OUDEBY, John, of Stoke Dry, Rutland.

Family and Education
s. and h. of Thomas Oudeby† of Stoke Dry, Thomas is mistakenly described as a knight in The Commons 1386-1421, iii. 884. This error derives from OR, i. 256. by his w. Joan (d. aft. Apr. 1434), cousin and h. of Alice, da. and h. of John Pritewell of Shopland, Essex. m. (1) by Easter 1423, Margaret, da. of William Godmanston of Little Bromley, Essex; (2) by Mich. 1433, Agnes, ?da. of Sir Henry Neville† of Prestwold, Leics., at least 3s. CP25(1)/192/9/7. A clue to Agnes’s identity is provided by a deed of 1458 in which John, the son and heir of our MP, released his right in lands once of his gt.gdfa.
