In Dugdale’s time, the windows of Wellesbourne church bore the arms of Wykeham impaling those of our MP, that is, the arms of the Middletons of Belsay (quarterly gules and or, a cross patonce argent in the first quarter) with a label of three points for a difference: W. Dugdale, Warws. i. 574. wid. of Sir Thomas Strange† (d.1436) of Walton Deyville and Walton Mauduit, Warws., 1s. Dist. 1465.
