Isabel’s date of birth is uncertain. She was said to be aged 28 ‘and more’ in Nov. 1477 (C140/60/15), but her son was born in 1459, so she is more likely to have been born in about 1439 than about 1449. Furthermore, if she was indeed the Isabel on whom Whiteknights was settled in 1446 (and this seems likely as the same Isabel still had jointure in 1458), she may have been born even earlier. da. and event. coh. of John Mitchell (d.1473), C140/60/15. of Marlborough and Huish, Wilts. and sis. of John Mitchell†, 1s.
