Temple.The inscription on his tomb at Deptford says he was educated ‘at the Temple’, but the Inner and Middle Temple records contain no reference to him. m. (?2)APC, xvi. 354, 20 Nov. 1588, refers to a Richard Browne, one of the Queen’s servants at court, whose wife had recently died. If it was the MP he must have married more than once, since Joan (née Vigors) survived him. Christopher, the son and heir, was born before 1588 (D. Lysons, Environs of London (1792), iv. 366).
