CLANVOWE, Thomas (d.1410), of Hergest and Yazor, Herefs.

Family and Education
prob. s. of Sir John Clanvowe (d.1391) of Hergest. The relationship between Sir John and Sir Thomas Clanvowe is uncertain. Thomas was certainly John’s heir, and, after 1391, held most of the Clanvowe family lands. But since Sir John is not known to have been married, Thomas may have been his nephew or even (as in Herefs. RO, B56/2, f. 17), a younger brother. See K.B. McFarlane, Lancastrian Kings, 230-2.. m. 1392, Perryne (d.1422), da. of Sir Robert Whitney I of Whitney-on-Wye, Herefs., s.p. Kntd. 1394 /5.
