1st s. of Thomas Chichele (d.1400) of Higham Ferrers, Northants. by Agnes Pynchoun; bro. of Robert and of Henry Chichele (d.1443), abp. of Canterbury. m. by Feb. 1390, Beatrice, 2s. (1d.v.p.) 2da.Chichele’s w., Beatrice, is erroneously said to have been the da. of William Baret* (T. Chichele, Stemata Chichileana, pp. ix-x). But in his will Chichele named her parents as John and Christine (Cal. Wills. ct. Husting London ed. Sharpe, ii. (2), 442-3). Baret himself described his w. as childless at the time of her death in 1401, and he is not known to have contracted any previous marriage. See also Reg.
