Robert Brown, sis. of Robiniana, Countess of Peterborough, s.p. suc. fa. 13 Apr. 1725; and to estates of his cos. William Ashe, M.P., 1750, and took add. name of Ashe.

A’Court was returned for Heytesbury on the Ashe family interest which he later inherited. He supported Administration in all his recorded votes; and was listed for the Government in Dupplin’s list of 1754. In 1753 he was granted a secret service pension of £500 p.a., but ‘seems to have been so indifferent to money that sometimes for two years he did not trouble to draw it’.1Namier, Structure , 217, 218, 438. His pension ceased in 1762 when he and his brother William A’Court remained with Newcastle in opposition. In 1765 he appears in Newcastle’s list of ‘persons particularly recommended to the Marquess of Rockingham’, but nothing appears to have been done for him.

He died 6 Sept. 1768.
