Howe, a High Church Tory, whose father had represented Wiltshire, was himself returned eight times for the county, sitting altogether in thirteen Parliaments. Re-elected unopposed in 1715 and 1722, he voted against the Administration in every recorded division. In 1721 his name was sent to the Pretender as a probable supporter in the event of a rising.2Stuart mss 65/16. He died 3 July 1730, leaving his estates to his cousin John Howe.
