Pringle, whose father bought Haining for him in 1701, was re-elected in 1715 for Selkirkshire on the interest of his brother-in-law, John Murray, its hereditary sheriff. Absent from the division on the septennial bill in 1716, he voted with the Administration in all other recorded divisions, including that on Lord Cadogan, 4 June 1717.1More Culloden Pprs. ii. 173-4. He retained his seat for Selkirkshire until his elevation to the bench in 1729.
He died 19 Aug. 1754.
