biography text
No trace has been found of a Weymouth man of this name. Nor is there any evidence to support the supposition that the MP was he who served as a juror at inquisitions post mortem in Wiltshire in the late 1440s. This man had by 1450 established a connexion with the prior of Ivychurch and was serving as verderer in Milchet forest. In May 1452 his replacement in the latter office was ordered, since he was believed to be dead.1 C139/118/16; 131/21, 26; CP40/758, rot. 190; CCR, 1447-54, p. 295. A further John Kyngeswode with interests at West Grinstead in Sussex is an even less likely candidate: CP40/647, rots. 32, 108.
