biography text
Nothing is certainly known of Long save for his election. It is possible that he is to be identified with the namesake who, on 6 Feb. 1428, served on the jury in the inquisition, held at Southam, a few miles from Warwick, on the death of Mary, mother of Sir Edward Doddingselles*. There is, however, nothing to identify him with the gentleman and grocer of Worcester who sued out a general pardon in April 1460.1 C219/15/4; CIPM, xxiii. 21; C67/43, m. 1.
