In March 1420 Cave acted for William Redmore of Westzoyland in the transfer of half a burgage in Bridgwater’s ‘Frerenstrete’ to the merchant Robert Beste.2 WARD2/57A/204/56-60, 91. He was well connected among his neighbours, and regularly attested local deeds alongside men such as John Pitt*, John Gonne*, William Gosse*, William Gascoigne I* and John Kedwelly†.3 WARD2/57A/204/6, 47, 68, 70, 75.

Cave was still alive in August 1436, but died within the following two years. His widow, Alice, went on to marry one David Howell, perhaps a kinsman of William Howell*.4 WARD 2/57A/204/87; Som. Feet of Fines (Som. Rec. Soc. xxii), 120.
