A draper who kept a shop at Bedford,6 E159/200, recorda Mich. rots. 25-25d. the MP served at least twice as a bailiff of the town before becoming mayor. He held the mayoralty for two consecutive terms, for he was re-elected to the office at Michaelmas 1439. The previous biography failed to realize Hunt attested at least nine parliamentary elections, missing his attendance at those for Bedford and Bedfordshire in 1433 and 1447 respectively. Hunt was still alive in 1455, for he witnessed a sale of property in St. Peter’s parish, Bedford, on 5 May that year.7 Beds. and Luton Archs., St. Peter’s Bedford, parish recs., P100/6/5.
