biography text
More may be added to the earlier biography.2 The Commons 1386-1421, iii. 589.
John served as a jurat of Hythe in the course of three decades and his service was certainly continuous from 1419. Both Alexander and John junior were very likely his sons and their own election as jurats followed closely after their putative father’s death, with Alexander being first chosen among their number in February 1433 and John junior in February the following year.3 Hythe ct. bk. H 1018, ff. 119, 126.
