During Elizabeth’s reign, Chamond’s career was overshadowed by that of his father, who sat for the county in 1559 and who no doubt secured Digory Chamond’s return to Parliament, at an early age, for a borough where the family owned some ex-monastic property. Chamond died 14 Dec. 1611, having outlived four of his five younger brothers. His heir was the surviving brother, John.1Vivian, Vis.
