biography text

Corbet was described as his father’s son on the 1601 Aldeburgh return, and his election may have been due to his father’s friend Edward Coke. The alternative is a connexion with the Woodhouse family, one of whom, Roger, dead by 1601, provided one of Aldeburgh’s first Members.

As there is no reference to Corbet in his father’s will, he may have died v.p.1Vis. Norf. (Harl. Soc. xxxii), 85; Venn, Biog. Hist. Gonville and Caius, i. 122; PCC 95 Huddleston.
