DALLOWE, Thomas, of Leominster, Herefs.

This Member was probably the ‘Dallo’ (no christian name given) who in August 1553 was imprisoned at Shrewsbury for an unspecified offence, the Privy Council ordering his release as one ‘belonging to Sir James Croft’. As Croft’s brother-in-law and a resident burgess, Dallowe had an obvious claim to a Leominster seat. The only reference found to him in the journals of the Commons is his being granted leave of absence ‘for his affairs’, 12 Mar. 1563. He was classified by the bishop of Hereford in 1564 as a favourer of sound religion. He was mentioned in a will dated August 1573. Nothing further is known about him.1Rylands Eng. ms 311; G. F.
