HEATH, William (d.1607), of Bath, Som.

Heath was paid by the Bath corporation for his services in both Parliaments. In 1597 he shared £20 with his colleague for four weeks’ service, and in 1601 was paid £6 6s. for himself, at the rate of 2s. per day. He brought back a book of Statutes, which cost the borough 2s.4.d. Although his name is not mentioned in the journals of the House, he may have attended committees concerning Langport Eastover (10 Nov. 1597) and Bristol (28 Nov.). By his will, proved 13 Aug. 1607, Heath left a silver cup, a bedstead, £60, a house and a tenement worth £30 to his widow Judith, £60 to his daughter Ellen, and 40s. to his servant and kinsman, John Heath. The executor and residuary legatee was his eldest son John, who was to look after a younger son, Robert.
