LANCASTER, Thomas (d.1610), of Gray’s Inn, London.

Lancaster, a London lawyer, had one younger brother who died in Germany, and another, Edward, who became constable of Taunton castle in 1597. His elder brother John married into the Carew family, but his return for West Looe was probably obtained through Sir William Bevill, steward of the borough. Lancaster spoke twice in this Parliament, once at least on the bill against vicious and idle living, but the undated reports in the anonymous journal are too meagre to be of value. Lancaster was buried at St. James, Clerkenwell, 7 Mar. 1610. His will mentions houses at Clerkenwell, High Holborn, Fleet Street and Hangingsword Alley.1Vis. Som. (Harl. Soc. xi), 66; Vis. Som.ed.
