biography text
Nothing has been ascertained about Nutall beyond the fact that he received a grant of arms in 1581, and in 1585 wrote to Burghley about a proposed Act of Parliament ‘for repealing of letters patent granted to Peter Gray’, concerning concealed lands in the deanery of Chester. He died 8 Feb. 1586, being buried at Frodsham five days later.1Vis. Cheshire (Harl. Soc. xviii), 186-7; J. C. Wedgwood, Staffs. Parl. Hist. (Wm. Salt Arch. Soc.), i. 375; CSP Dom. 1581-90, p. 231.
