biography text

Strode’s family had a natural parliamentary interest at Plympton. As he was a younger son, little information has survived about Strode himself. He made his will 17 Aug. 1603, and in 1605 administration was granted to his widow during the minority of his heir and residuary legatee, Adam. The will, which was finally proved in 1624, mentions also sons named Philip and Sampson, five daughters, Lewis Darte his brother-in-law, and land he had obtained from George Carey of Cockington.1Vivian, Vis.
