Possibly originating from Monmouthshire, and perhaps having had some legal training, Yerworth was an active official of Chester and a leading local personality. His marriage into a country family must have increased his standing but he sat in Parliament only once and left no trace upon the records. He was given a good report by his bishop in 1564, sent to talk to the lord admiral about Chester’s priveleges on 16 June 1584 and died 29 Apr. 1587.1Vis. Cheshire (Harl. Soc. lix), 171; R. H.
