Nothing is known either of the circumstances of Churchill’s election or of his activities in the House, though he was doubtless a Tory. He did not even serve on the committee for the estate bill introduced by his colleague and nephew Edward Meller. After the Revolution he was probably a nonjuror. He was buried at Piddlehinton in August 1702. His second son John was elected for Dorchester in 1708.
