Dillington was returned for Newport at a by-election in 1689 caused by the death of Sir Robert Dillington, 3rd Bt. He was probably a Whig, but he made no speeches and was appointed to no committees. He was buried at Stetchworth, the seat of his uncle, Richard Gorges, on 11 Feb. 1690.2Mon. Inscriptions from Cambs. 155.
