biography text

Dillington was returned for Newport in 1689. He was probably a Whig like his father, but in the short time he sat in the Convention he was appointed to no committees, though on 30 Apr. he charged Sir Robert Holmes with breach of his privilege by quartering soldiers on his house. He died on 13 May 1689, aged 25, and was buried at Newchurch. His brother, the fifth baronet, was returned for Newport in 1707 and again in 1717 as a government supporter.1Misc. Gen. et Her.
