biography text

Pendarves was returned to the Convention for Penryn, which his grandfather had represented in the Cavalier Parliament. According to Anthony Rowe he voted to agree with the Lords that the throne was not vacant; but he was appointed to no committees and made no recorded speeches. He continued to vote with the Tories in the next three reigns. He signed the Association, but after the Hanoverian succession he became one of the most active Jacobites in the west country. He died on 8 Mar. 1725, the last of this branch to sit in Parliament.
