In 1695 Yarde was returned on the interest of Sir Edward Seymour, 4th Bt.*, for Totnes, which lay near his own family seat. Forecast as likely to oppose the proposed council of trade on 31 Jan. 1696, he signed the Association in February and voted against fixing the price of guineas at 22s. in March. A defaulter on a call of the House, he was sent for in custody on 16 Dec. 1697 and was discharged on the 23rd. He obtained leave of absence on 19 Jan. 1698. Seymour did not recommend him in 1698, when he was classed as a member of the Country party ‘out’ of that Parliament. Yarde died in 1735 and was buried on 10 Nov. at Churston.1 Vivian, Vis.
