The Aclands, an old Devonshire family, owned considerable property around Barnstaple,1Lysons, Mag. Brit. Devon, ii. 39, 53-54, 168, 241, 309, 369, 429. for which Acland was returned unopposed as a Tory in 1721. He was re-elected after a contest in 1722, but did not stand again. He died 29 July 1728.
