Sir Henry Ashurst was the grandson of Henry Ashurst, a leading London merchant and nonconformist. Returned on petition in 1715 for New Windsor, near his wife’s property, he voted for the Administration in all recorded divisions but did not stand again. He died 17 May 1732.
