Beaghan’s sister married Bubb Dodington who brought him into Parliament when it suited him to do so and with whom he always voted.2Dodington Diary, 466. Following Dodington into opposition in 1740,3Sir Dudley Ryder’s diary, 9 Aug. 1740, Harrowby mss. he lost his seat at the ensuing general election. He was brought in for the seat vacated by John Tucker in 1747 but dropped when Tucker resumed it in 1754. He died 15 July 1755.
