Returned as a Whig for Haslemere after a contest in 1715, Blundell voted with the Government except on the peerage bill. In March 1720 he was credited with £2,000 stock at 318 by the South Sea Company but he was able to show that he had given security for it.1CJ, xix. 569. Bottom of the poll at Haslemere in 1722, he did not stand again. He died 19 Aug. 1756, all his honours becoming extinct.
