On succeeding to the title in 1739, Bulkeley was returned as a Tory for Beaumaris, which he represented for the rest of his life. In the negotiations between the English Jacobites and the French which led to the Forty-five, he pledged himself to lead a rising in Wales under Sir Watkin Williams Wynn. He died 23 Apr. 1752.
