biography text

Descended from a Wiltshire family, Chaundler settled in Hampshire before 1700. A Whig under Queen Anne, he was returned for Lymington in 1715 on the interest of the 2nd Duke of Bolton, voting with the Administration in every recorded division, except the repeal of the Occasional Conformity and Schism Acts, when he was absent. He died in 1729.
