Returned as a Tory on the family interest at Maidstone, John Finch, a lawyer, voted consistently with the Opposition. In February and March 1732 he twice paired with his cousin, Lord Perceval, on Walpole’s proposed salt duty, which he opposed.1HMC Egmont Diary, i. 220, 234. He died 1 Jan. 1740.
