John Guise was returned as a Whig for Aylesbury in 1722, but no vote of his has been recorded. Defeated there by a follower of Walpole’s in 1727, he was again unsuccessful at a by-election for Great Marlow in 1731, despite his father’s interest in that borough. He did not stand again, selling the Marlow estates to Sir William Clayton in 1735.3VCH Bucks., iii. 71. He died in May 1769.
