biography text
Francis Herbert was brought in for Montgomery after the death of his brother by his 1st cousin Henry Arthur Herbert, afterwards 1st Earl of Powis, giving up his post, which was incompatible with a seat in Parliament, to his third son Ffolliot, who held it until his death in 1752.2Gent. Mag. 1748, p. 245. He was frequently one of the bailiffs of the borough of Montgomery which Lord Powis controlled. The date of his death is unknown (alive 1755).
