biography text
A Tory and a member of the October Club, Jenkinson succeeded his father as knight of the shire, voting against the septennial bill in 1716. He died 29 Oct. 1717, ‘much lamented, being a very honest, worthy gentleman’.1Hearne, Colls. (Oxf. Hist. Soc.) vi. 102. His widow subsequently married Charles Eversfield and his younger brother, Colonel Charles Jenkinson, was the father of Charles Jenkinson, 1st Earl of Liverpool.
