Lambert’s family had been seated at Boyton since the time of Elizabeth.2Hoare, Wilts. Hundred of Heytesbury, 203. A member of the October Club, he sat as a Tory for Hindon under Queen Anne until he was defeated there in 1713. Returned for Salisbury at the accession of George I, he voted against the Government in all recorded divisions but did not stand again. In 1722 his name was sent to the Pretender as a probable supporter in the event of a rising.3Stuart mss 65/16. He died 29 Jan. 1734.
