biography text
On coming of age Lloyd was returned for the county as a Tory after a contest. Soon after his election he presented the rectory of Selattyn, nr. Oswestry, to Dr. Sacheverell, whose induction was made the occasion of a tumultuous progress through the country. He did not stand again till 1722, when he was again returned after an expensive contest. He died 7 June 1734, leaving his estates crippled by his and his father’s election expenses.1Salop Arch. Soc.
