In February 1735 Moore sold Fetcham Park to pay his father’s debts,3Wm. Moore to Thos. Moore, 25 Feb. 1735, ibid. c. 11, f. 109. succeeding his uncle at Polesden Lacey shortly afterwards. Returned for Banbury by his friend Francis, Lord North,4See Ld. North to Wm. Moore, 10 July 1743 and 3 Aug. 1745, ibid. ff. 122, 124. he voted against the Administration in every recorded division except that on the motion for the removal of Walpole in February 1741. He was one of the Whigs who signed the opposition whip of 10 Mar. 1743.5Owen, Pelhams, 198. He died 26 Oct. 1746, bequeathing his estates to North’s son, George III’s prime minister, whose trustees sold Polesden Lacey a year later for £5,500 to pay the debts encumbering the estate.6Bodl.
