Succeeding as a minor, William Morgan was returned on his family’s interest for Monmouthshire on coming of age, married a daughter of the Duke of Devonshire, and was one of the wealthy government supporters who were created knights of the Bath when Walpole revived that order in 1725. He voted with the Government on the civil list arrears in 1729, but was absent from the division on the Hessians in 1730, dying 24 Apr. 1731.
