Morris was the grandson of John Morris, a London upholsterer, who purchased Loddington in 1670.1Nichols, Leics. iii. 330; iv. 401. In 1721 his name was sent to the Pretender as a probable supporter in the event of a rising.2Stuart mss 65/16. He was returned for Leicestershire as a Tory in 1722 but did not stand again. He was buried at Loddington 30 July 1759.
