Returned unopposed for Newcastle-under-Lyme on Lord Gower’s interest, Parker was classed as a government supporter. On 15 Nov. 1753 he seconded Sir James Dashwood’s motion for a call of the House to discuss the necessity for the repeal of the Act for the naturalization of the Jews.1Coxe, Pelham, ii. 291-3.
He died 9 Feb. 1795.
