Van Huls was private secretary to William III, who gave him a court place for life.2Cal. Treas. Bks. xiv. 310; xvi. 169; Luttrell, iv. 304. Returned for Bramber after a contest, he died before taking his seat, 11 June 1722. His only brother Samuel van Huls, burgomaster of The Hague, was his sole heir and executor.3PCC 42 Marlborough.
