biography text
Isaac Whittington, a practising lawyer, whose grandfather came from Leominster, Herefordshire, was probably related through his first wife to William Drake of Shardeloes, whose brother, the Reverend Thomas Drake, rector of Amersham, married Whittington’s daughter in 1755. Brought in as a Tory for Amersham on the Drake interest at a by-election early in 1754, he died 25 Apr. 1773.
