Arthur Onslow ‘laboured’ for his brother’s ‘advancement and well being’ in the army,1HMC 14th Rep. IX, 501-2. and Richard’s ‘success and character’ more than answered Arthur’s expectations. Richard Onslow sat for the family borough of Guildford, voted regularly with the court and spoke occasionally, but made no mark in Parliament. He died 16 Mar. 1760.
