biography text
The Pytts family owned large estates in Worcestershire and Herefordshire; during the seventeenth century members of the family sat for various Herefordshire constituencies; and Edmund Pytts’s father and grandfather both represented Worcestershire. Pytts himself succeeded his father as Member for the county, and was returned unopposed in 1753 and again in 1754. He was classed in Dupplin’s list of 1754 as a Tory. No vote or speech by him is reported during this Parliament. Pytts did not stand in 1761, nor apparently at any subsequent election.
He died 13 Dec. 1781.
