b. 29 Dec. 1753, 1st s. of Sir Cecil Bisshopp, 7th Bt., by Susanna, da. of Charles Hedges of Finchley, Mdx. m. 27 June 1782, Harriet Anne, da. and h. of William Southwell of Frampton, Glos. 2s. d.v.p. 3da. suc. fa. Sept. 1779; abeyance of the barony of Zouche terminated in his favour 11 Aug. 1815.

Returned without a contest in 1780, Bisshopp voted with Administration till the fall of North’s Government; did not vote on Shelburne’s peace preliminaries; and in Robinson’s list of March 1783 was classed among ‘Lord North’s friends, doubtful’. He did not vote on Fox’s East India bill. In Stockdale’s list of 19 Mar. 1784 he was classed as a supporter of Pitt. There is no record of his having spoken in the House before 1790.

In 1784 Bisshopp stood a contested election, and came second on the poll. His only recorded vote in this Parliament was for Administration over the Regency, 1789.

He died 11 Nov. 1828.
