Boynton was returned for Beverley after a contest. His only known vote was for the motion to make Grenville’s Election Act permanent, 25 Feb. 1774, and there is no record of his having spoken in Parliament. He did not stand at the general election of 1774.

He died 6 Jan. 1778.
