Bridgeman sat for Wenlock, where his father was recorder, but gave up his seat when George Forester wished to re-enter Parliament. Bridgeman’s only recorded vote in this period was against Pitt’s Irish commercial propositions, and he is not known to have spoken.

He died 5 June 1850.
